Through decades, there have been so many various kinds of diseases that pain the human race. One of the disastrous diseases at this time is cancer. So what is cancer? In our body, there are multiple healthy cells that play their role in our system. These healthy cells somewhat undergo alternation and they multiply uncontrollably. Later on, a tumor will be formed. This is composed of a mass of abnormal cells. Most cancers are from tumors but not all tumors are cancerous. In today’s time, we have known different types of cancer. We have the five major types of cancer which are Carcinoma, Sarcoma, Melanoma, Lymphoma, and Leukemia. Carcinoma is the most diagnosed cancer that came from skin, lungs, breasts, pancreas and other glands. Lymphomas are cancer of lymphocytes, Leukemia is for the blood, Sarcomas are from bone and Melanomas are from the pigment of the skin.
There are diseases that are rare for humans, and one of those is the pleural mesothelioma. This kind of cancer is an aggressive one that targets your pleura. This is a thin membrane that covers your lungs and your chest wall. This cancer is very rare that occurs for an indirect or direct contact from a mineral called asbestos. For this kind of cancer we have three sub types: Epithelioid, Sarcomatoid, and Biphasic/Mixed. Subtypes will vary from person to person and will have different symptoms such as dry coughing, wheezing, coughing up blood, night sweats, worry, fear, abdominal pain bloating and/or constipation, fluid build-up, in the lungs, fatigue and weakness in the muscles, lack of appetite and weight loss.
The challenge of having this kind of cancer is that studies show that a person with this does not respond to different therapies and cannot last for 12-18months. Technology and researchers are keeping on improving their resources to aid people with this kind of rare cancer.
